Welcome to MamaBaer's Musings, a place where I will ramble on about life in general with a little of my own take on things. I'll be sure to add a lot of pics of the grankids because. . . well. . . I can.
I welcome opinions, comments and questions etc.
This is a work in progress. I think it will be fun.

So proud of my Life Scout

Well, my son just makes me so proud. Tonight he passed his board of review for Life rank in Boy Scouts. Next step Eagle. The only catch is he has to complete his merit badges and Eagle Project before he turns 18 in April. He can do it.

9-7-08 - I've added a picture from the Court of Honor where Chris was recognized for his rank advancement and here he is pinning my mother's pin on my ribbon.

It's hard to believe that 11 years ago he began his Scouting Journey as a Tiger Cub in Pack 213 at Parkcrest Elementary. We had a good time in Cub Scouts together. He enjoyed the pinewood Derbies, building things and camping. Then in fifth grade when he crossed over to Troop 360, I had to send him on his first camping trip without me. They went to Pinnacle Mountain in Arkansas over spring break. I was so worried because it was still cold and they were heading into some rainy weather and they were going to hike up the mountain. Silly Mom. He made it home safely and had a blast.
I had six cubs in my den of Webelos and they all crossed over to Troop 360. Only Chris and Arnold are still involved in Scouts. Arnold made Life a while back and is ready to complete his Eagle project. And now Chris. Over the years he has been to leadership training, Oak leaf, Golden Acorn. He has spent many weekends away camping and week long summer camps. Two years ago he was able to attend Philmont which was a great experience, two weeks backpacking through the New Mexico back country. Another camp was a week long horsetrek at Buffalo Trails Scout Ranch in west Texas. Last year he was selected to become a member of the Order of the Arrow. I am so very proud of him. He has turned into such a kind and helpful young man with a heart of gold. I hope he is proud of what he has accomplished.
